Client: C² Technologies

C² is a contractor that provides learning solutions to the government, federal agencies, private industry, and organizations.

They initially brought me on as a freelancer, editing PowerPoint presentations and instructor guides for FEMA contract focusing on vILT. When one of their in-house Section 508 experts left, they offered me a full-time QA position, provided I obtained my Trusted Tester certification. Since I love learning new skills, this was a win for both of us.

Over nearly a year and a half, I edited courseware for clients including PNC, FEMA, UMGC, the CDC, DOD’s Defense Senior Leader Development Program (DSLDP), AARP, the Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute (FSI), WMATA, and the Navy, among others. My responsibilities included:

  • Correcting grammar, layout, and spelling to match the client’s preferences
  • Testing logic, functionality, and change request execution to validate the client’s requests
  • Checking accessibility for certain clients to ensure all learners could comprehend the materials

I created mini in-house style guides so our instructional designers and developers could keep important client idiosyncrasies handy. I also contributed my skills to polishing more than a dozen proposals and provided quick-turnaround 508 remediation for urgent CDC communications to employees. Most of my work at C² was proprietary; below is a lorem ipsumed sample of one of the CDC memos.
