ATD is a nonprofit specializing in supporting those who develop talent in others (often in positions in HR or learning & development).
When one of their permanent staff members took maternity leave, I came onboard as a temporary assistant editor. An MLA devotee by training, I familiarized myself with the Chicago style guide and Wrike, which ATD uses for ticketing and workflow. Over a series of months, I edited all types of content: online ads, blog posts, e-newsletters, conference materials, web pages, presentations, and participant handbooks for their courses—more than 800 pieces in total. They still occasionally call on me when the workload gets overwhelming, and I get to learn about the latest in remote work technology, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and online learning in the process.
